Woodingdean Community Centre is a spacious and modern venue, available to hire for regular activities or special occasions
The recently refurbished centre is a popular facility for classes and events.
The Entrance Hall
You enter the hall through double-glazed double doors which lead into a short corridor. The corridor houses the well-maintained and very clean men and women's toilets, as well as a disabled toilet. This area is welcoming and leads through to the cafe and dining area.
Kitchen and dining area
This area (approximately 8m x 6.3m) is often used as a bar or café style reception space. It can seat up to 25 people, chairs and tables are provided. This area is for use by people hiring one of the main halls - it is not a private area.
Main Hall - John Homewood Room
This large hall (approximately 12m x 7.5m) seats up to 100 people in rows or 75 cabaret style. The hall is available for hire on its own or as part of the whole centre hire package. There is an overhead projector available, and a pull-down screen on the back wall.
Margaret Holding room
This room is approximately 7.5m x 6m. The room includes an entrance to a private section of the community centre (currently used by a local dance school) so this may not be suitable for meetings or private functions. More information available on request.
Kitchen
There is a well equipped kitchen complete with fridge, a cooker, kettle, tea and coffee making facilities. The cupboards are stocked with a good supply of kitchen utensils, tea/coffee cups and small plates. The kitchen is for use by people hiring one of the main halls - it is not a private area.
Outside Garden and Patio area
The community centre has recently been decorated and renovated. A new addition is an outside patio space, accessible from the main hall and the café area. The patio has a nice 'garden feel' and is stocked with plants being well tended for by the Woodingdean Horticultural Society.
